LIFE + is the financial instrument of the European Union about the environment agency for the 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2013. The legal basis for LIFE +, is the Regulation (EC) nº 614/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 May 2007.

During the period 2007-2013, the European Commission launched an annual call for proposals for LIFE + projects. The projects are open to participation by public or private bodies, actors or institutions established in the European Union.

LIFE + aims at co-financing of actions in the field of nature conservation (LIFE + Nature and Biodiversity) and other areas of European interest in the environment (LIFE + Environment Policy and Governance). A third component of LIFE + is geared specifically to the cofinancing of information and communication activities relating to the environment LIFE + Information and Communication.

The project of the City of Teruel "Recovery periurban area of the natural clays: Sustainable Environmental Balance" is one of the projects that have been selected in the axis of Environmental Policy and Governance and in particular for his contribution in the context of the priority "Urban Environment".
